Amazon SEO Consultants and the Work That Comes First

Flapen cover for Amazon SEO Consultants and the Work That Comes First: a Flapen operator reviewing a grid of listing image frames on a monitor

Search advice on Amazon pays only when the listing converts, the main image earns the click, and the unit keeps money after fees. So the hire starts with a diagnosis rather than a keyword file. Name the symptom first, then decide whether words, creative, price, or the market itself is the thing to buy.

The short version

  • Rank is an outcome, not a lever. Shoppers choosing your listing over the ones beside it moves position, so search work only clears what blocks that choice.
  • The symptom names the specialist. No impressions is a keyword problem, no clicks is an image problem, and no orders is an offer problem.
  • Three layers sit under every search term. The words on the page, the creative in the grid, and the money the unit keeps after fees.
  • The outcome worth hiring against is a year. The majority of the brands we run reach profitability within their first year, and that is the promise to ask for.
  • A market under $2M per year cannot be ranked into profit. Below that floor there is too little revenue to capture after the cost of customer acquisition.

The five symptoms sellers arrive with

"I don't have the profitability I expected." That sentence sends most sellers looking for search help, and it carries five different causes. Two of them live in a keyword file.

Symptom The cause underneath it Who fixes it
The listing never appears for its own search terms Priority terms missing from the title, the bullets, or the backend fields A consultant, in one afternoon
Impressions rise and clicks stay flat The main image loses the grid at the size a phone shows it A photographer working from a shot list
Clicks arrive and the page does not convert Price position, the rating gap, or a gallery answering no objection Product and listing work, in that order
Rank holds and the account still loses money Fees plus a return rate above 8% take back what the orders earn Sourcing and pricing, never the keyword file
Nothing moves at any level of effort The market turns over less than $2M per year Nobody. Choose a different market

Flapen figures as of September 2026.

Read the first column against your own account before you read a proposal. Row one is finished in a day. Rows two through five are the expensive ones, and a search engagement scoped against any of them bills for months on the wrong layer.

The rating gap decides row three. It is the distance between your product's rating and the rating of the products already selling in your niche, and we build for 0.2 stars above that average.

What Amazon SEO consulting reaches, and what it hands back

Amazon SEO consulting is diagnosis and direction. The deliverable is a term list, an indexing map, a content brief, and a window to measure in. Somebody on your side still opens the account and makes the edits.

That deliverable reaches the first layer and touches the second only as a recommendation. The words layer is the cheapest of the three to correct. The creative layer needs a camera, and the money layer needs a supplier conversation.

So a consultant is the right purchase when the diagnosis lands on indexing or targeting, and the wrong one everywhere else. Ask a candidate which layer your problem sits in during the first hour, because someone reading a research tool answers with a term.

Our creative is shot in our own studio in Dubai, sourcing runs through Guangzhou, and 50 operators in Abu Dhabi run about 70 brands by hand with nothing subcontracted. That is why the three layers are one conversation here instead of three invoices. If your diagnosis lands on the market row, hire nobody, us included.

The outcome that settles the hire

Rank positions are the easiest thing to show and the weakest thing to promise. A screenshot of position four proves the term was contestable, not that the account made money. So ask the outcome question instead: what share of the accounts you advised twelve months ago is profitable today.

Our answer is that the majority of the brands we run reach profitability within their first year. The denominator is about 70 brands, run by hand, across all 23 Amazon marketplaces. Hold any consultant to a figure with a cohort and a window inside it, mine included.

Then agree how the fix gets read. Four signals settle it: rating trend, return rate, conversion rate, and cost of customer acquisition trajectory. If none improves inside 60 to 90 days, the search work was not the constraint.

What Amazon SEO consultants will not tell you

Four things stay out of the pitch, and on a careless day that includes ours.

  • Indexing is an afternoon of work sold as a program. The symptom is a listing missing from its own search terms, and the cause is usually three empty backend fields. You fix that yourself with a text editor and a search bar.
  • A ranking guarantee is a promise about somebody else's algorithm. The symptom is a proposal with a position and a date inside it, and the cause is that rank is the one number a client can check alone. Ask for a conversion commitment instead.
  • The main image is often the real diagnosis, and it belongs to a different budget. The symptom is impressions climbing while clicks stay flat, and the cause is a tile nobody picks out of a grid of siblings. A photographer fixes that, not a keyword file.
  • The cheapest fix is the one nobody sells. The symptom is a proposal that opens on the term list, and the cause is that content work bills better than a price change. Test a price position and a new main image before you buy a search program.

Hold us to the same four. If our written report does not name which of the three layers your problem sits in, do not hire us.

One free thing to do this week, for a seller running one to three products between $5K and $30K a month. Search your top term and write down how far down your listing sits. Next to it, write how many people visited that listing last month and what share of them bought.

If the share is healthy and the position is low, buy search work. If it is the other way around, no keyword file fixes it.

Get that same diagnosis written up on your own account, at no charge and back inside 48 hours, from Flapen.
