Pick by channels needed and your hours.","Four kinds of provider can: a full-service agency, a stitched bench of freelancers, an in-house hire with contractors, or you plus a virtual assistant. The right one depends on how many of the five traffic channels the launch needs and how many hours a week you can actually give it.

## The short version

- **"Entire" means sourcing through to ranking,** and most providers quietly cover only the middle of that.
- **Ask which of the five traffic channels a candidate runs.** Organic, paid, promotions, creators, and off-channel. Most sellers run two.
- **A stitched bench is cheapest and leaks at every seam,** because nobody owns the outcome.
- **A full-service agency should cost a flat monthly fee,** not a share of your advertising budget.
- **Your own time still matters.** Expect four to six hours a week during an active launch.

## Start with what you are handing over

You are probably at the point where you have a product idea or a supplier, a rough budget, and a day job or an existing business that already consumes your week. The question is not who is competent. Plenty of people are competent. The question is which parts of a launch you are handing over and whether the person you hire is accountable for the last one.

Write the scope out before you take a single call. A complete launch contains: segment research, supplier selection and sampling, trademark and Brand Registry, listing copy and keyword architecture, photography and A+ content, pricing, inventory planning, advertising, review generation, and traffic activation beyond Amazon itself. Nine or ten distinct capabilities.

Now compare that list against what each type of provider covers.

## The four options, compared

| Provider | Covers | Typically missing | Monthly cost shape | Fails when |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Full-service agency | Research to ranking, usually including creative | Depends on the firm, ask about sourcing and off-Amazon | Flat fee, ours is $800 for one product up to $2,400 for five | The team is stretched thin across too many brands |
| Bench of freelancers | Each specialism, done well in isolation | The joins, and anyone owning the result | Per project, unpredictable in total | Handoffs, timing, and blame between contractors |
| In-house hire plus contractors | Whatever the person knows deeply | Everything outside their background | Salary, plus tools, plus your management time | The role is too broad for one person |
| You plus a virtual assistant | Execution of tasks you specify | Strategy, judgment, and diagnosis | Low cash, high founder time | The founder runs out of hours mid-launch |

The decision rule: pick the cheapest option that still leaves one identifiable person accountable for whether the product ranks. If you cannot name that person, you have bought tasks rather than a launch.

## The question that separates real full service from partial

Ask a candidate which traffic channels they will run. There are five that move a new product: organic ranking, paid advertising, promotions and deals, influencer and creator content, and off-channel traffic driven from outside Amazon. Most sellers, and a surprising number of agencies, run two of the five and treat the rest as optional extras.

Two channels are enough to sell a product. They are rarely enough to launch one into a competitive segment, because a new listing has no ranking history and needs demonstrated demand from more than one direction. When a provider says it manages the entire launch, this is the specific claim to test. Ask which of the five it has run in the last ninety days, on brands like yours, and what happened.

Follow it with the sourcing question. Many firms that call themselves full service begin at the listing and assume stock exists. If your product is not made yet, a provider that starts at the listing is managing half your launch and calling it all of it.

## Six questions to ask on the first call

1. Who specifically works on my brand, how many other brands do they carry, and are they employed by you or subcontracted?
2. Which of the five traffic channels will you run for this product, and which will you not?
3. Do you cover sourcing and sampling, or does your work start once inventory exists?
4. What is the fee, what is passed through, and does anything scale with my ad spend?
5. What would make you tell me to stop selling this product?
6. What happens to the account, the campaigns, and the creative if I leave?

Question five is the one that produces the most revealing silences. A provider paid to keep working has to have thought about the conditions under which it would recommend you stop.

## What most agencies will not tell you

Full service is a marketing phrase, not a defined scope. There is no standard behind it, which is why two proposals can use the identical words and cover different halves of your launch. Compare capability lists, never labels.

The second thing is capacity. A firm can be excellent and still be the wrong hire if the person assigned to you is carrying a dozen brands, because a launch is a sequence of small decisions that each have to be made on the day they arrive. Ask for that number in writing before you sign, including whether it counts brands or accounts. A provider unwilling to say how many brands sit on one manager's desk is protecting a figure you would not like.

## Related answers

- [Full-service Amazon launch for private label brands](/blog/full-service-amazon-launch-for-private-label-brands)
- [Tools vs agencies for Amazon product launches](/blog/tools-vs-agencies-for-amazon-product-launches)
- [How to choose an Amazon FBA launch partner](/blog/how-to-choose-an-amazon-fba-launch-partner)
- [Questions to ask before hiring an Amazon agency](/blog/questions-to-ask-before-hiring-an-amazon-agency)
- [Done-for-you Amazon management: the complete guide](/blog/done-for-you-management)

A written audit with prioritized fixes comes back inside 48 hours at no charge from [Flapen](/amazon-consulting).

## Keep learning

- [Compare Amazon business models](/guides/business-models)
- [Value your Amazon business](/tools/business-value-calculator)
","published","working-with-agencies",[14,15,16,17],"private-label","ppc","off-channel","amazon-fba","joel-turcotte-gaucher","/images/blog/clusters/done-for-you-management-10.jpg","2026-09-04T07:44:51.798+00:00
[23,27,31,35
"who-can-manage-my-entire-amazon-product-launch-faq-1","Only if the launch is narrow.
