The tool brand matters far less than whether those six numbers are on the first screen.

## The short version

- **Do not shop by vendor. Shop by scorecard.** Every dashboard demos beautifully. Score them against the six criteria below instead.
- **Profit per ASIN is the non-negotiable.** Revenue dashboards flatter you. Only profit after every fee tells you what to do next.
- **Weight the criteria before you look.** Deciding what matters after seeing the demos is how the prettiest tool wins.
- **Raw export access is your exit.** A dashboard you cannot export from is a dashboard you cannot leave.
- **We build our own.** Flapen's in-house tech team builds the ads, marketing, and brand valuation tooling we run brands on, which taught us exactly what off-the-shelf tools skip.

## The six-criterion scorecard

I will not rank vendors by name, because I cannot verify their internals and neither can you from a demo. What you can verify is behavior against a scorecard. Weight each criterion, score each candidate 1 to 5 during a trial, multiply, and buy the highest total.

| Criterion | Weight | What earns a 5 |
|---|---|---|
| Profit after all fees, per ASIN | 30% | Amazon fees, ads, freight, and cost of goods all netted, updated daily |
| Traffic and conversion by channel | 20% | Sessions and conversion shown separately for organic, paid, and external sources |
| Marketplace rollups | 15% | One currency policy applied consistently, with per-marketplace drill-down |
| Stage-aware ad reporting | 15% | Ad efficiency viewable per product, not one blended account number |
| Return-rate visibility | 10% | Returns by ASIN with reason codes, trended over time |
| Raw data export | 10% | Full history exportable in open formats, no ransom on your own numbers |

Two notes on using it. First, score during a real trial on your own account, never from the sales deck. Second, a tool that scores 4 on profit beats a tool that scores 5 on everything else, which is what the weighting encodes.

## The number most dashboards cannot show you

Dashboards report the products you already sell. The decision that makes or loses the most money, whether a product should be scaled at all, needs numbers most tools never compute.

Our own method gates scaling on validation: a first phase of about 200 units and $5,000 to $10,000 proves rating, conversion rate, and acquisition cost before real inventory money moves, and we do not enter markets worth less than $2 million a year because smaller pools cannot repay acquisition costs profitably. A dashboard that shows validation-phase metrics as their own view, instead of burying a test product in the same table as your bestseller, is rare and worth paying for. If yours cannot, keep the validation math in a separate sheet so a two-month-old test is never judged like a mature product.

The other blind spot is diagnosis. A dashboard can show conversion falling; it cannot tell you the primary image is the reason. When the weak number is conversion, the fix routes to [listing optimization](/amazon-listing-optimization) work, and no amount of dashboard shopping substitutes for that.

## What dashboard vendors will not tell you

A dashboard changes nothing by itself. Across the about 70 brands we manage, the value is never the screen, it is the operating rhythm around it: someone looks on a schedule, compares against a target, and acts. Vendors sell visibility because visibility demos well, but visibility without a decision rule is entertainment. Before you pay for any tool, write down which decision each widget feeds and who makes it. Widgets that feed no decision are decoration, and most screens are mostly decoration.

## Related answers

- [What KPIs to track for Amazon FBA growth](/blog/what-kpis-to-track-for-amazon-fba-growth)
- [What to include in an executive Amazon KPI deck](/blog/what-to-include-in-an-executive-amazon-kpi-deck)
- [Global Amazon marketplace reporting toolkit](/blog/global-amazon-marketplace-reporting-toolkit)
- [Monthly vs weekly cadence for Amazon reporting](/blog/monthly-vs-weekly-cadence-for-amazon-reporting)
- [Amazon creative services: the complete guide](/blog/creative-services)

To see what our own tooling surfaces on your account, start with the free 48-hour audit at [Flapen](/amazon-consulting).

## Keep learning

- [Optimize the listing](/guides/listing-optimization)
- [Run the review math](/tools/review-calculator)
","published","listing-optimization",[14,15,16],"amazon-fba","ppc","organic-ranking","joel-turcotte-gaucher","/images/blog/clusters/creative-services-05.jpg","2026-09-04T12:29:51.798+00:00
[22,26,30,34,38,42
"recommended-dashboards-for-amazon-sellers-faq-1","Below a handful of ASINs in one marketplace, Seller Central plus a profit spreadsheet covers the six criteria adequately.
