Three traffic sources justify a Brand Store, and below them the primary image returns more.","Pick one that will tell you whether you need a storefront at all. A Brand Store only earns its
cost once branded search, Sponsored Brands traffic, or off-channel visitors are meaningful.
Below that, the same budget spent on your primary image returns more.

## The short version

- **Ask whether you need one yet.** Many brands do not.
- **Three traffic sources justify it:** branded search, Sponsored Brands, off-channel.
- **In-house production means the store can evolve.** Subcontracted means it cannot.
- **Ask for store insights from a store they built,** not a screenshot.
- **Design quality and conversion are loosely related.**

## When a storefront is worth building

I run Flapen with 50 operators managing about 70 brands, with brand storefront design
and creative produced in-house through a Dubai studio.

| Traffic source | If it is small | If it is meaningful |
|---|---|---|
| Branded search | Store rarely visited | Range discovery, credibility |
| Sponsored Brands campaigns | No landing destination needed | Store as landing page |
| Off-channel and influencer traffic | Send to a detail page | Store as brand introduction |
| Organic product search | Never reaches the store | Not applicable |

The bottom row is why the question matters. Most Amazon buyers arrive at a detail page from
search and decide there. They do not visit your store, ever.

So before commissioning anything, look at how much of your traffic comes from the first three
rows. If you run no Sponsored Brands campaigns, have little branded search, and have no
off-channel program, a storefront is a small lever regardless of how well it is designed.

## Choosing a designer

Five questions, and only one is about design.

1. **Do I need a store yet, given my traffic mix?** Willingness to say no.
2. **Who produces photography and video,** in-house or subcontracted?
3. **Can you show store insights from a store you built?** Visitors, views, sales attributed.
4. **How is the structure decided?** It should reference the three traffic sources.
5. **What happens after launch?** Quarterly review, or a finished project.

Question two determines whether the store can improve. A store built from existing product
shots is a layout exercise. A store with purpose-shot lifestyle photography and video is a
different product, and if that production is subcontracted, every subsequent change means a
new brief and a new quote.

## What a good storefront actually does

Structure follows the audience rather than mirroring a website.

A range overview for branded search, where someone already knows your brand and wants to see
what else you make. Dedicated sections for any Sponsored Brands campaign that lands there, so
the ad and the page match. A brand story section for off-channel visitors who have never heard
of you and need a reason to trust the products.

Then measure it. Amazon provides store insights covering visitors, views, and attributed
sales. Review them quarterly and change the store based on what they say. A store untouched
since launch is a brochure rather than a conversion asset.

## The honest priority order

If your budget is finite, this is the sequence.

**Primary image first.** It sets click-through rate, which caps every visitor your product
page receives. Cheapest high-leverage change available.

**Product page conversion second.** Secondary images, bullets, A+ content. This is where most
buyers actually decide, and if your conversion rate is low no amount of ad spend fixes it.

**Storefront third,** once the three traffic sources above are large enough to justify a
destination.

Agencies rarely present it in this order, because a storefront is a discrete sellable project
with a satisfying visual deliverable while primary image testing is unglamorous and iterative.

## What most agencies will not tell you

Storefront design is among the most profitable services in this category: scoped, visual, easy
to price, and easy for a client to feel good about approving. It is also frequently not the
constraint.

Ask a candidate directly whether a store is your highest-leverage next investment. One willing
to say your primary image matters more, and that the store can wait, is showing you how they
will advise once you are a client.

The other thing: a store cannot outperform the traffic pointed at it. Commissioning one
without a Sponsored Brands program or an off-channel plan is building a shop on a street
with no footfall, and no amount of design fixes that.

## Related answers

- [Best agencies for Amazon store design](/blog/best-agencies-for-amazon-store-design)
- [Questions for agencies about A+ content and brand store design](/blog/questions-for-agencies-about-a-content-and-brand-store-design)
- [Amazon listing optimization services comparison](/blog/amazon-listing-optimization-services-comparison)
- [Agencies that specialize in Amazon DSP creative](/blog/agencies-that-specialize-in-amazon-dsp-creative)
- [Hiring an Amazon agency: the complete guide](/blog/hiring-an-agency)

If a store is not your next best investment, we will say so at [Flapen](/amazon-consulting).

## Keep learning

- [Compare Amazon business models](/guides/business-models)
- [Value your Amazon business](/tools/business-value-calculator)
","published","working-with-agencies",[14,15,16,17],"listing-setup","product-images","brand-registry","off-channel","joel-turcotte-gaucher","/images/blog/clusters/hiring-an-agency-07.jpg","2026-09-04T01:42:51.798+00:00
[23,27,31,35,39
"recommended-agency-for-amazon-storefront-design-faq-1","Only once branded search, Sponsored Brands traffic, or off-channel visitors are meaningful.
