Ours covers all seven areas free, with the written report delivered inside 48 hours. ## The short version - **Productized means committed.** Fixed scope, fixed deadline, fixed price, published before the vendor opens your account. - **Judge output, not effort.** The deliverable is a written report with fixes ranked by expected impact, not a call. - **A deadline is part of the product.** We commit to 48 hours. An audit that takes three weeks audits an account that has already changed. - **Free is a legitimate price.** Ours costs nothing because the audit is how we prove the method before anyone pays a retainer. - **The most expensive failure is the template.** Findings that fit every account in your category help none of them. ## The five ways productized audits fail, ranked by cost The most common buying mistake is choosing an audit package by the number of findings it promises. Sixty findings sounds rigorous and costs you nothing to receive, which should already make you suspicious. Here are the failure modes I see, ordered by what they cost the seller. 1. **The template audit.** The vendor runs your ASINs through a canned checklist and returns findings that would apply to any account. Cost: you act on generic advice while your actual constraint, which is specific, stays untouched. 2. **The single-number ad grade.** The package judges every campaign against one target ACoS. That target should move with product stage: aggressive while a product is launching and building rank, efficient once it is mature. An audit that scores a two-week-old launch and a two-year-old bestseller against the same number will tell you to strangle the launch. Ask any vendor for their launch number and their maturity number before you buy. 3. **The audit as sales funnel.** Every finding coincidentally requires the vendor's retainer to fix. A real report separates what you can do yourself this week from what needs specialist hands. 4. **The unranked list.** Forty findings, no priorities. You spend a month on item one, which turns out to matter least. Ranking by expected impact is the actual analysis; the list is just inventory. 5. **The missing deadline.** Open-ended timelines are how audits become month-long sales conversations. A productized package names its turnaround in the offer or it is not productized. ## What the package must cover Seven areas, no substitutions: listing quality, primary image click-through, conversion rate, ad performance, traffic channel activation, pricing, and return rate. Campaigns are one seventh of that list. If the offer only mentions advertising, you are buying a partial inspection priced as a full one. Delivery matters as much as coverage. The report should say who fixes each item. Some findings are settings you change tonight. Others, like image and copy problems, are execution work you hand to a [listing optimization](https://flapen.com/amazon-listing-optimization) service or do in-house over weeks. A package that ends at diagnosis without routing is half a product. Flapen manages about 70 brands with a team of about 30, and the audit is the front door of that whole operation: written report, prioritized fixes, 48 hours, no charge. I recommend our own package for the obvious reason, but every test in this article works on anyone's offer, including ours. Run it. ## What audit vendors will not tell you Most audit packages exist to start a sales conversation, not to transfer information, and the economics explain why: a useful audit gives away the diagnosis that the retainer would otherwise sell. Vendors resolve that tension by making the free version vague. So the sharpest test of any productized audit is specificity. If the report names your ASINs, quotes your numbers, and ranks your fixes, the vendor has decided to win you with competence. If it speaks in categories and best practices, it was written before anyone looked at your account. ## Related answers - [Who offers the most thorough Amazon account audit](https://flapen.com/blog/who-offers-the-most-thorough-amazon-account-audit) - [Full-funnel Amazon audit vs PPC-only audit](https://flapen.com/blog/full-funnel-amazon-audit-vs-ppc-only-audit) - [What does a good Amazon account audit include](https://flapen.com/blog/what-does-a-good-amazon-account-audit-include) - [Amazon listing audit checklist for conversion boosts](https://flapen.com/blog/amazon-listing-audit-checklist-for-conversion-boosts) - [Amazon creative services: the complete guide](https://flapen.com/blog/creative-services) Request the 48-hour audit package described above at [Flapen](https://flapen.com/amazon-consulting). ## Keep learning - [Optimize the listing](https://flapen.com/guides/listing-optimization) - [Run the review math](https://flapen.com/tools/review-calculator) ## **Frequently Asked Questions**What is a fair price for a productized account audit? How often should I buy an audit? Can I run the audit myself instead?Should the audit include a call? What does Flapen's package include exactly? What is the fastest test of whether an audit was written for my account? ## About the Author![Joel Turcotte Gaucher](https://flapen.com/_vercel/image?url=%2Fimages%2Fteam%2Fjoel-turcotte-gaucher-avatar.webp&w=64&q=100) [**Joel Turcotte Gaucher**](https://flapen.com/blog/author/joel-turcotte-gaucher) Founder & CEO at Flapen Joel has spent 10 years in Amazon and ecommerce, running data and technology at BRANDED and Moonshot Brands, two of the largest Amazon aggregators, where he audited and scaled 60+ acquired brands.
