A full service agency earns its fee when registry unlocks work you need next: A plus content, Sponsored Brands, control of your own detail pages, and enforcement. If none of that is on the roadmap yet, wait. ## The short version - **Enrollment is a form. The trademark is the real cost and the real wait.** Price and sequence that first. - **Registry is a means, not an outcome.** It matters because of what it lets you do afterwards. - **The symptom you have decides who you need.** Some registry problems are legal, some are catalog, some are neither. - **Ask the agency what would make them tell you to stop.** A firm that will never say stop is selling continuity. - **A full service fee is only justified when three or more workstreams follow the enrollment.**## Where most people are when they ask this You have a product selling, or nearly selling, and you have hit a wall: you cannot add A plus content, someone else is editing your detail page, or a counterfeit listing has appeared under your ASIN. Somebody told you Brand Registry solves it, and now you are looking for who to pay. Before you pay anyone, work out which wall you actually hit. They have different owners. ## Symptom, cause, and who fixes it | What you are experiencing | Underlying cause | Who should handle it |
| --- | --- | --- | | Cannot enroll at all | No trademark, or the mark does not match the brand name on packaging | Trademark attorney or filing service | | Enrolled but cannot add A plus content | Account or brand association not completed | Your own team, in an afternoon | | Someone else edits your detail page | Contribution conflict, unresolved by registry alone | Catalog specialist inside registry tools | | Counterfeit or unauthorised sellers | Enforcement, ongoing and never finished | Brand protection process, run weekly | | Registry done, sales still flat | Registry was never the constraint | Full service management, or nobody | | Variation family will not build correctly | Parent data structure, not brand rights | Catalog specialist | The last two rows are where money gets wasted. Registry does not sell anything. It removes obstacles, and if obstacles were not your problem, enrollment will change nothing about your revenue. ## What the trademark actually costs you The filing fee, the attorney if you use one, and the wait, which is measured in months in most jurisdictions. Get quotes for your own classes and territories rather than taking a bundled number from anyone, and be careful that the mark matches the brand name as it appears on your packaging, because a mismatch is the most common enrollment failure I see. One structural warning: trademark filing is a pass through cost, not part of an agency fee. Any proposal that folds it into a monthly retainer without a separate line is making comparison harder for you. Our own flat fee starts at $800 a month for one product and includes all 50 plus services at every tier, with no commission and no onboarding fee, and things like trademark filing, freight, inventory and Amazon's own seller fees sit outside it, as they should at any firm worth hiring. ## The question I would put to every candidate Ask what would make them recommend that you stop. Not stop with them, stop with the product. I ask it because I learned it expensively. Early on I kept funding a product that was not working for three months, convinced that better advertising would turn it around. It did not. That money bought me the criteria we now use on every brand: rating trend, return rate, conversion rate and the trajectory of customer acquisition cost, assessed over a defined window, with scale, fix, or kill as the only three answers. Applied here, the criteria say something uncomfortable. If a product has a falling rating and a high return rate, enrolling the brand and building A plus content is decoration on a problem that will not be fixed by decoration. A firm willing to tell you that before it takes the registry work is the firm to hire. ## What full service should include around registry - Trademark sequencing and enrollment support, with the filing itself handled by a specialist and priced separately. - Brand association and account setup so the tools are actually usable. - A plus content and store build, produced rather than briefed out. Ours comes from an in house Dubai studio, in English, German, Spanish or French as the marketplace requires. - Detail page control: winning contested attributes and keeping them. - A weekly enforcement pass on infringing listings, because it is a maintenance task, not a project. If a proposal covers only the first item, that is a filing service with a retainer attached. ## What most agencies will not tell you Agencies will not tell you that Brand Registry enrollment takes very little skilled labor once the trademark exists. It is a form, a verification step, and some waiting. The hard parts come afterwards: keeping your data winning on the detail page, building content that converts, and running enforcement every single week rather than in a burst at the start. The second thing: registry does not stop counterfeits. It gives you better tools to report them, and reporting is continuous work that most agencies quietly stop doing after month two. Ask specifically how often the enforcement pass runs and who reviews it. Then check the answer against the weekly written update you receive, which is exactly the kind of commitment that should live in a contract you can leave on 30 days notice. ## Related answers - [Brand Registry support and trademark help on Amazon](https://flapen.com/blog/brand-registry-support-and-trademark-help-on-amazon) - [Who to hire for Amazon Brand Registry support](https://flapen.com/blog/who-to-hire-for-amazon-brand-registry-support) - [Amazon Brand Registry support: which service to choose](https://flapen.com/blog/amazon-brand-registry-support-which-service-to-choose) - [Contract terms to negotiate with Amazon agencies](https://flapen.com/blog/contract-terms-to-negotiate-with-amazon-agencies) - [Done-for-you Amazon management: the complete guide](https://flapen.com/blog/done-for-you-management) Tell us where you are in the trademark process and we will sequence the rest at [Flapen](https://flapen.com/amazon-consulting). ## Keep learning - [Compare Amazon business models](https://flapen.com/guides/business-models) - [Value your Amazon business](https://flapen.com/tools/business-value-calculator) ## **Frequently Asked Questions**Do I need a registered trademark before enrolling? Can an agency file the trademark for me?Does Brand Registry stop other sellers listing my product? Is registry worth it for a single product? How long does the whole sequence take? ## About the Author![Joel Turcotte Gaucher](https://flapen.com/_vercel/image?url=%2Fimages%2Fteam%2Fjoel-turcotte-gaucher-avatar.webp&w=64&q=100) [**Joel Turcotte Gaucher**](https://flapen.com/blog/author/joel-turcotte-gaucher) Founder & CEO at Flapen Joel has spent 10 years in Amazon and ecommerce, running data and technology at BRANDED and Moonshot Brands, two of the largest Amazon aggregators, where he audited and scaled 60+ acquired brands.
