Buy it from whoever can do all three and then measure the outcome. A copy rewrite on its own rarely moves a listing, because the main image and the price decide most of what happens before a shopper reads a single bullet.

## The short version

- **Copy is the smallest of the three levers.** Image, price, and review position do more of the work.
- **Relevance and conversion are separate problems.** Ranking for the right search terms does nothing if the page does not convert the visit.
- **Ask who does the photography.** A team that cannot reshoot is limited to rearranging what already exists.
- **Insist on a before and after measurement.** Sessions, conversion rate, and organic position on named keywords, over a defined window.
- **Optimization is not a one-off purchase.** Competitors move, search terms drift, and a page tuned in March is stale by September.

## What buying this looks like from the other side

Before Flapen I ran data and technology at BRANDED and at Moonshot Brands, two large Amazon aggregators, which put me on the buying side of this exact service. We hired listing specialists regularly, and the pattern was consistent enough to be uncomfortable: the deliverable arrived on time, it read better than what it replaced, and the numbers frequently did not move.

The reason was almost never talent. It was scope. A copy vendor was hired to fix a conversion problem that lived in the primary image, or a photography studio was hired to fix a traffic problem that lived in the search terms. Each supplier did the job it was given competently, and the listing stayed where it was.

That is the thing worth carrying into your own buying decision. Diagnose which of the three jobs is broken before choosing who to hire, because the vendor you pick decides which problems can even be seen.

## Three ways to buy it, compared

| Option | What you get | What it costs you in coordination | Where it fails |
|---|---|---|---|
| Freelance copywriter | Title, bullets, description, backend terms | You brief, you supply keywords, you own the result | Cannot touch imagery, price, or ad structure |
| Listing-only specialist shop | Copy plus keyword research, often A Plus layout | Moderate, but the shop rarely sees your ad data | Optimizes the page in isolation from traffic |
| Full-service management team | Copy, images, A Plus, advertising, and measurement | Low, since one team owns the whole loop | Costs more per month, and you are buying capacity you may not need yet |

**The decision rule.** If your traffic is healthy and the page is thin, a specialist is enough and cheaper. If you do not know whether the problem is traffic or the page, you need whoever can read the advertising data alongside the listing, because that is the only place the answer lives. If your primary image has never been tested, hire whoever can shoot a new one.

## Measure it like this

1. **Fix the window before the work starts.** Two to four weeks of clean data before, the same after, with no other major change in between.
2. **Record three numbers per ASIN.** Sessions, unit session percentage, and organic position on five named keywords.
3. **Change one layer at a time.** Copy and search terms first, then the main image, then A Plus content. Simultaneous changes cannot be attributed.
4. **Watch conversion before celebrating traffic.** More sessions on a page that does not convert raises the cost of the lesson.
5. **Re-run it quarterly.** Competitor pages change, and relevance decays whether or not anyone is watching.

If conversion rate is the weak number, no amount of additional ad spend fixes it. You are buying visits to a page that already loses them, and every extra dollar makes the arithmetic worse rather than better. Fix the page, then buy traffic to it.

## What most agencies will not tell you

Keyword research is the easiest part of this service to fake. Anyone can export a list from a tool, place the high-volume terms in the title, and produce something that looks like expertise. The hard part is deciding which terms you have any realistic chance of ranking for given your review count, your price band, and who currently owns the top of the page, then building the listing around that subset rather than around the biggest numbers on the sheet.

The second thing: differentiation cannot be written into a listing. When we take on a product, the sharp lines come out of competitor negative reviews, because that is where buyers say plainly what the category is failing to give them. If the product has no edge, an expert rewrite produces a more articulate version of the same problem. That is worth knowing before you pay for one.

## Related answers

- [Amazon PPC and listing optimization bundled service](/blog/amazon-ppc-listing-optimization-bundled-service)
- [Who manages Amazon images, A Plus content and video](/blog/who-manages-amazon-images-a-plus-content-and-video)
- [How to fix low Amazon conversion rate](/blog/how-to-fix-low-amazon-conversion-rate)
- [What does a good Amazon account audit include](/blog/what-does-a-good-amazon-account-audit-include)
- [Done-for-you Amazon management: the complete guide](/blog/done-for-you-management)

Send us a listing and we will tell you which of the three layers is losing you money, at [Flapen](/amazon-consulting).

## Keep learning

- [Compare Amazon business models](/guides/business-models)
- [Value your Amazon business](/tools/business-value-calculator)
","published","working-with-agencies",[14,15,16],"listing-setup","keyword-strategy","product-images","joel-turcotte-gaucher","/images/blog/clusters/done-for-you-management-05.jpg","2026-09-04T05:39:51.798+00:00
[22,26,30,34,38
"expert-amazon-listing-optimization-services-faq-1","Conversion changes can appear within days, since they affect every visit immediately.
