Score candidates on full-account scope, on who does the work, and on whether ACoS targets change by stage.","There is no single best provider, only a fit test. The services worth paying for cover the whole account: catalog, creative, advertising, inventory signals, and enforcement. Score any candidate on scope, on who physically does the work, and on whether their ACoS targets change with the stage of each product.

## The short version

- **Scope beats specialism for most brands under five products.** A great PPC vendor cannot fix a listing that does not convert.
- **A stage-blind ACoS target is the tell.** Launch and maturity are different jobs with different numbers.
- **Ask who writes, designs, and files.** The name on the contract is often not the hand on the keyboard.
- **Reporting cadence is a service, not a courtesy.** Weekly written, bi-weekly live, and a channel you can reach mid-week.
- **The exit terms tell you what the relationship really is.** Month to month with 30 days of notice keeps everyone honest.

## Why scope decides this before quality does

Amazon does not let you succeed at one thing. Ranking depends on conversion, conversion depends on images and price, images depend on knowing what the reviews of competing products complain about, advertising depends on all of it, and inventory position quietly governs whether any of it survives a good month. Pull one thread out of that and hand it to a specialist while nobody owns the rest, and you get a beautifully optimized campaign pointed at a page that will not convert.

That is why I would rather see a brand hire one team with full coverage than three excellent vendors with none. Our own answer is to include the entire service set, more than 50 services, at every pricing tier, so nobody has to decide whether a listing rewrite is in scope in the middle of a bad month. You do not need to buy from us to apply the same rule. Take any proposal and mark which of the seven areas below is explicitly named. Anything unnamed will not happen.

## The ten-point checklist

1. **Catalog ownership is named.** Done properly means one team holds admin, one person is accountable for every detail page change, and version history is available on request.
2. **Listing work includes the image set.** Done properly means the primary image is treated as a click-through variable and tested, not delivered once and forgotten.
3. **Advertising targets are stated by stage.** Done properly means they quote you an aggressive launch number and a tighter maturity number, and explain the point at which the target moves.
4. **Keyword strategy is sourced from data you can see.** Done properly means search query data and competitor gaps, shown to you, not a keyword list arriving as a finished artifact.
5. **Traffic beyond advertising is on the plan.** Done properly means promotions, creator work, and off-channel traffic appear with owners and dates, even if you start with only one of them.
6. **Inventory signals reach the same team.** Done properly means whoever runs your ads knows your cover position before they scale a campaign into a stockout.
7. **Enforcement and account health are covered.** Done properly means unauthorised sellers, suppressed listings, and policy notices have a named owner and a response window.
8. **Reporting arrives without being requested.** Ours is a written update in Slack every week and a live review every second week, with the channel open in between. Any comparable rhythm is fine. Silence is not.
9. **The commercial terms are legible.** Done properly means the fee, what is excluded, and the notice period fit on one page. Our tiers run $800 a month for one product to $2,400 for five, with no commission and no revenue share below $50,000 a month in profit.
10. **Exit is defined before entry.** Done properly means you keep the Seller Central account, the campaigns, and the creative, with a written handover, and access sits on revocable user permissions you control.

## The ACoS question in detail

If you only get one question, use this one. Ask what ACoS they will run on a product in its first eight weeks, and what they will run on the same product a year later once it is ranking. A candidate who gives one number for both has not managed a launch. Early advertising buys velocity, reviews, and rank position, and it is supposed to look expensive. Mature advertising defends a position and is supposed to look efficient. The target moves because the job changed.

The follow-up matters just as much. Ask what would make them lower spend rather than raise it. Anyone whose fee scales with your media budget will find that question uncomfortable, which is exactly why it is worth asking.

## What service providers will not tell you

Most account management is priced as a bundle and delivered as a queue. Your account gets attention when something breaks or when a review meeting is imminent. Between those moments it sits still. This is not usually dishonesty, it is load. The provider took on more accounts than the team can carry, and triage took over.

The second thing: a large part of what gets sold as strategy is really throughput. Publishing 30 A+ modules, refreshing 40 images, testing 12 primary images, and clearing a backlog of suppressed listings is unglamorous work that moves numbers more reliably than any framework. When you compare candidates, ask how much they shipped for a similar brand in the first 60 days. The answers separate quickly.

## Related answers

- [Rank Amazon account management companies](/blog/rank-amazon-account-management-companies)
- [Best Amazon account managers for small brands](/blog/best-amazon-account-managers-for-small-brands)
- [KPIs an Amazon agency should report weekly](/blog/kpis-an-amazon-agency-should-report-weekly)
- [How to choose an Amazon account manager](/blog/how-to-choose-an-amazon-account-manager)
- [Build vs buy for your Amazon channel: the complete guide](/blog/build-vs-buy)

Run this checklist against us before you run it against anyone else, at [Flapen](/amazon-consulting).

## Keep learning

- [Compare Amazon business models](/guides/business-models)
- [Value your Amazon business](/tools/business-value-calculator)
","published","working-with-agencies",[14,15,16,17],"seller-account","ppc","organic-ranking","amazon-fba","joel-turcotte-gaucher","/images/blog/clusters/build-vs-buy-05.jpg","2026-09-04T04:39:51.798+00:00
[23,27,31,35,39
"best-amazon-account-management-services-faq-1","Flat monthly fees tied to product count are the cleanest structure.
