There is a best one for your constraint. Diagnose whether the bottleneck is catalog, conversion, advertising, or capacity, then buy the service that clears it, and hold that provider to a stage appropriate efficiency target rather than one flat number. ## The short version - **"Best" is a diagnosis, not a ranking.** The winner changes depending on which number is broken. - **Most sellers misdiagnose upward.** They buy advertising management when the problem sits on the product page. - **A provider that quotes one efficiency target for every product** is running a template, not a strategy. - **Full service earns its fee when three or more constraints are live at once.** One constraint is usually a specialist job. - **The best service is the one that will tell you it is not needed yet.** Ask directly, and listen to how fast the answer arrives. ## The mistake that costs the most The expensive error I see repeatedly is hiring an advertising manager to solve a conversion problem. Traffic gets bought, the page still does not convert, spend rises, efficiency worsens, and six weeks later the seller concludes that Amazon advertising does not work for their category. It usually worked fine. The page was the problem, and the money went to the wrong department. Before you shortlist anybody, run the diagnosis below on your own numbers. It takes an afternoon and it changes which proposals are even relevant. ## Symptom, cause, and who actually fixes it | Symptom in your data | Most likely cause | Who fixes it |
| --- | --- | --- | | Impressions high, clicks low | Primary image and price position | Creative and listing specialist | | Clicks fine, unit session percentage low | Page content, reviews, rating gap | Listing and content team | | Conversion healthy, sales flat | Traffic never activated beyond one channel | Full service manager | | Sales fine, profit falling | Efficiency target never changed after launch | Advertising operator with margin data | | Everything works, nothing ships on time | Capacity, not knowledge | Managed service, or a hire | | Listings vanish or go inactive | Catalog and compliance hygiene | Catalog specialist | Work top down. The rows above cannot be skipped, because a fix lower in the table gets erased by a defect higher in it. ## The efficiency question that separates the good ones Here is the single question I would ask every candidate: what advertising cost of sale should this product run at during launch, and what should it run at once it is mature? If the answer is one number, walk. Target advertising cost of sale changes by product stage. At launch you are buying rank and review velocity, and you should expect to run aggressive, sometimes deliberately unprofitable on a per unit basis. At maturity the same product should run efficient, because the organic position is doing work the ads used to pay for. A provider who applies the mature number to a launch will strangle the product before it ranks. A provider who applies the launch number to a mature catalog will quietly eat your margin for a year and report growing revenue the whole time. Both of those are common, and both look like competence on a monthly report. Ask for the two numbers in writing, with the trigger that moves the product from one to the other. ## Where I sit in this I run an agency, so treat the next paragraph as disclosure rather than argument. Flapen manages about 70 brands with 50 operators, entirely in house, across all 23 Amazon marketplaces, with content produced in English, German, Spanish and French. Our flat fee runs from $800 a month for one product to $2,400 for five, and every tier includes the full service set with no commission and no revenue share. That model suits a brand with several constraints live at once. It does not suit a seller whose only issue is one campaign structure on one product. If that is you, hire a specialist for a month and keep your money. Before I ran this, I was on the other side of the table, running data and technology at BRANDED and at Moonshot Brands. We hired agencies, fired several, and the ones we kept were never the ones with the best deck. ## What most agencies will not tell you The category "best Amazon account management service" has no objective winner, and the firms competing for that phrase know it. What gets ranked is marketing spend, not results. I would ignore every list you find, including any implicit one here. The second thing: most agencies will not tell you that the first 30 days should produce a measurable efficiency improvement, and that if it does not, you should ask a hard question in month two rather than month nine. Our onboarding runs audit, then assign a brand manager, then identify blockers, then execute, and a measurable improvement in advertising cost of sale typically lands inside that first month. Hold anyone to a version of that timeline. Month to month terms with 30 days notice exist precisely so that you can act on the answer. ## Related answers - [Affordable Amazon account audit and strategy](https://flapen.com/blog/affordable-amazon-account-audit-and-strategy) - [Who to hire to manage Amazon ads and listings](https://flapen.com/blog/who-to-hire-to-manage-amazon-ads-and-listings) - [KPIs an Amazon agency should report weekly](https://flapen.com/blog/kpis-an-amazon-agency-should-report-weekly) - [Amazon agency vs in-house team pros and cons](https://flapen.com/blog/amazon-agency-vs-in-house-team-pros-and-cons) - [Done-for-you Amazon management: the complete guide](https://flapen.com/blog/done-for-you-management) See the full service list and published tiers at [Flapen](https://flapen.com/amazon-consulting). ## Keep learning - [Compare Amazon business models](https://flapen.com/guides/business-models) - [Value your Amazon business](https://flapen.com/tools/business-value-calculator) ## **Frequently Asked Questions**How do I compare two account management services fairly? Is full service better than hiring specialists? What should I pay for account management? How quickly should I see a result? What happens to my account if I leave? ## About the Author![Joel Turcotte Gaucher](https://flapen.com/_vercel/image?url=%2Fimages%2Fteam%2Fjoel-turcotte-gaucher-avatar.webp&w=64&q=100) [**Joel Turcotte Gaucher**](https://flapen.com/blog/author/joel-turcotte-gaucher) Founder & CEO at Flapen Joel has spent 10 years in Amazon and ecommerce, running data and technology at BRANDED and Moonshot Brands, two of the largest Amazon aggregators, where he audited and scaled 60+ acquired brands.
