Map your actual gaps first, then screen vendors for real Amazon Business capability, quantity pricing, tax-invoice handling, business-buyer content, then run a gated 90-day pilot with stop criteria agreed in writing. In the GCC, the scarcest vendor skill is knowing when to tell you to stop, so test for it directly. ## The short version - **B2B on Amazon means Amazon Business buyers,** procurement accounts buying in quantity, with tax documentation and payment terms in the picture. - **Most "Amazon agencies" in the GCC are consumer-retail shops.** B2B capability is a claim to verify, not a menu line to trust. - **Hire against gaps, not against service lists.** The sequence below starts with your numbers, not vendor brochures. - **Every engagement needs stop criteria.** A vendor who cannot name what would make them advise pausing is planning to invoice forever. - **Pilot small, measure, then widen.** The GCC market rewards sellers who scale proven motions, not hopeful ones. ## First instruction: write the gap list before taking meetings Do this before any vendor call. Pull your account and write down, with numbers, where business-buyer revenue actually leaks. Typical GCC B2B gaps: quantity discounts not configured, VAT invoicing friction for Saudi and UAE business buyers, listings written for consumers with no spec sheets or compliance documents, no outreach to procurement-heavy categories, fulfillment latency that fails a business buyer's restock window. Rank the leaks by dirham value. The list does two jobs. It tells you which vendor species you need at all, and it converts every sales pitch into a checkable claim: here is my gap, show me the client where you closed this exact gap. Vendors interviewed against a gap list sound completely different from vendors free-pitching their deck. ## The hiring sequence, with a gate at each stage 1. **Match vendor species to your top gaps.** Listing and content specialists for spec-sheet and documentation gaps, account management agencies for pricing, promotions, and catalog structure, logistics partners for restock reliability. Gate: your top two gaps map to the vendor's core service, not a footnote. 2. **Screen for real Amazon Business capability.** Ask each candidate to show a live GCC account where they configured quantity pricing, business-only offers or pricing, and clean VAT invoicing for business buyers. Gate: they show artifacts, not slides. This screen alone removes most of the field. 3. **Check regional operating depth.** Saudi Arabia and the UAE differ on tax handling, import paperwork, and buyer behavior, and business buyers are less forgiving of stockouts than consumers. Gate: the vendor can describe, unprompted, how their process differs between amazon.ae and amazon.sa. 4. **Agree the pilot and its stop criteria before signing.** Define 90 days, a bounded product set, and the metrics that decide continue, fix, or stop. Gate: the vendor proposes stop criteria of their own. At Flapen every product we manage carries explicit scale, fix, or kill thresholds, rating trend, return rate, conversion, and acquisition-cost trajectory over a defined window, and I hold vendor relationships to the same standard I hold products. 5. **Scale only what the pilot proved.** Widen the catalog, the marketplaces, or the budget in that order, one variable at a time. Gate: each expansion has its own review date and its own stop criteria. ## The question that exposes the field fastest Ask every candidate: what would make you tell me to stop spending with you. Strong vendors answer immediately, because honest operators think in kill conditions, a conversion floor, a return-rate ceiling, a cost-per-acquisition trend that will not bend. Weak vendors reframe the question as pessimism and pivot to upside stories. The reason I weight this so heavily is arithmetic, not philosophy. B2B catalogs in the GCC often contain products that will never repay attention, wrong pack sizes, wrong compliance posture, demand pools too thin. A vendor with no stop logic spreads your budget across all of them evenly, which quietly taxes the products that could win. Whether a segment's demand justifies the investment at all is a research question we answer before spending, and our approach to that sizing is public at [research](https://flapen.com/research). ## What GCC vendors will not tell you Consumer tactics are being resold as B2B expertise across the region. The giveaway is content: if a vendor's "B2B optimization" sample has no spec table, no compliance documentation, no quantity-break logic, and no thought about how a procurement officer compares suppliers, it is a consumer listing with the word business in the pitch. Business buyers convert on specification confidence and reorder reliability, not on lifestyle photography. The second silence concerns concentration risk. A handful of business accounts can become most of your revenue, and few vendors will warn you, because concentrated revenue looks like success on every monthly report until one buyer switches supplier. Ask how the vendor tracks and caps buyer concentration. A blank look is your answer. ## Related answers - [B2B sellers Amazon agency recommendations Dubai](https://flapen.com/blog/b2b-sellers-amazon-agency-recommendations-dubai) - [Amazon agency for cross-border selling GCC](https://flapen.com/blog/amazon-agency-for-cross-border-selling-gcc) - [Rank Amazon agencies for brand launch in GCC](https://flapen.com/blog/rank-amazon-agencies-for-brand-launch-in-gcc) - [Recommended Amazon agency for FBA sellers in UAE](https://flapen.com/blog/recommended-amazon-agency-for-fba-sellers-in-uae) - [Amazon marketplaces by geography: the complete guide](https://flapen.com/blog/geography-and-marketplaces) If you want your B2B gap list drafted for you as a starting point, request the free written audit at [Flapen](https://flapen.com/amazon-consulting). ## Keep learning - [Expand to new channels](https://flapen.com/guides/channel-expansion) - [Find Amazon warehouse locations](https://flapen.com/tools/warehouse-locations) ## **Frequently Asked Questions**Is Amazon Business separate from regular Selling in the GCC?Should I hire one full-service vendor or several specialists? What does a fair pilot cost look like?Which GCC marketplace should B2B sellers prioritize? How does Flapen fit a B2B seller in the GCC? ## About the Author![Joel Turcotte Gaucher](https://flapen.com/_vercel/image?url=%2Fimages%2Fteam%2Fjoel-turcotte-gaucher-avatar.webp&w=64&q=100) [**Joel Turcotte Gaucher**](https://flapen.com/blog/author/joel-turcotte-gaucher) Founder & CEO at Flapen Joel has spent 10 years in Amazon and ecommerce, running data and technology at BRANDED and Moonshot Brands, two of the largest Amazon aggregators, where he audited and scaled 60+ acquired brands.
