One is advice, a diagnosis and a written plan you then execute yourself, and the other is execution, the weekly work done by hands that are not yours. Decide which one your account is short of before you compare rates, because the two rarely fix the same problem.

## The short version

- **Advice and execution are separate purchases.** One ends in a document. The other ends in work done inside your account every week.
- **A first diagnosis should cost you nothing.** Our written audit comes back with prioritized fixes inside 48 hours at no charge, and any candidate can be asked for the same.
- **Ask who does the work and where those people sit.** Fifty operators run about 70 brands here, sourcing and quality control in Guangzhou, creative in Dubai, nothing subcontracted.
- **A plan you cannot staff is a plan you did not buy.** Price the hours every recommendation needs before you agree to it.
- **Advice with no stop rule bills forever.** Ask what finding would make the honest answer "change nothing this quarter".

## Start from the symptom, not from the job title

You do not need a category of vendor. You need the thing your account is short of, and there are only two of those.

| Symptom in your account | The likely cause | Who fixes it |
|---|---|---|
| Sales flat for months and nobody can name the reason | The account has never been read end to end | A consultant, once, in writing |
| You know the fixes already and none have shipped | The plan has no hands behind it | An operator, weekly |
| One decision is stuck, such as entering a market | A decision, not a workload | A consultant, once |
| Listings, advertising, inventory, and creative all drifting | Capacity, not knowledge | An operator, weekly |
| The same recommendation reappears in every report | Whoever reads the account is not the one working it | An operator, weekly |
| Money goes into advertising and nobody can say what returned | Measurement first, then delivery | A consultant, then an operator |

Flapen figures as of September 2026. The right column names the purchase, not the person, since one firm can sell both.

One rule sits underneath that table. If a written answer would change what you do next week, buy the advice. If you know what to do and none of it gets done, buy the hands, because a second opinion mostly repeats the first.

## Who does the work, and where those people sit

The seller I have in mind runs one to three products and takes $5,000 to $30,000 a month, and the sentence I hear is *My product is live but sales are not where they should be*. That seller needs a diagnosis for about a week and execution for the rest of the year. Buying them in the wrong order is the expensive mistake.

So put one question to anyone quoting you, advisor or agency. Who physically does each task, and in which building do those people sit? A good answer names roles and cities.

Here the answer is 50 operators running about 70 brands by hand, with sourcing and quality control in our Guangzhou studio, creative in our Dubai studio, and an in-house team building our own tools. Nothing is subcontracted, across all 23 Amazon marketplaces. Test that claim by asking to meet the person who would hold your account.

I ask because I used to be the one buying. Running data and technology at BRANDED and Moonshot Brands, I audited and scaled 60+ acquired brands doing $5M to $10M each, and I hired outside help for many of them. The engagements that failed were rarely wrong about the diagnosis, only about who would carry it out.

A plan also has a price in your own hours. After onboarding here, a client spends about 2 hours a month on the account, and 4 to 6 hours a week during a launch. Every recommendation you accept becomes an item on somebody's week, and with no operator that somebody is you.

## What to buy first when the answer is not obvious

Buy the diagnosis first, because it is the cheaper mistake. A written audit here costs nothing and comes back inside 48 hours with fixes in priority order, covering listing quality, primary image click-through rate, conversion rate, advertising performance, traffic channel activation, pricing, and return rate. Collect two or three and compare what each found.

Then price the execution against what the audit says. Management here runs $800 a month for one product and $2,400 for five, with all 50+ services included at every tier, no commission and no revenue share, month to month on 30 days' notice. Read any quote as a share of the work the plan created, not as a standalone number.

Whichever you buy, demand a stop rule in writing. Ask what would make them tell you to stop spending on a product, and accept an answer naming four signals, being rating trend, return rate, conversion rate, and cost of customer acquisition (CAC) trajectory, read over a window of 60 to 90 days. An advisor billing by the hour with no stop rule earns more the longer the question stays open.

## What a consultant will not tell you about the plan they hand you

Three things go unsaid in most advisory proposals, and on a bad day that includes ours. A document changes nothing on its own. The person who diagnoses is usually not the one who delivers, and the handover between them is where money leaks.

| What you notice after the engagement | The likely cause | Who fixes it |
|---|---|---|
| The plan reads correctly and the account is unchanged | Nobody was assigned the work | You, by buying hands, not a second opinion |
| The deliverable names tactics but never owners | The scope stopped at the document | You, by making the next scope a task list with names |
| Advice arrives faster than your week absorbs it | The engagement is priced by the hour, not the outcome | You, by capping the plan at what one week carries |
| Delivery gets referred out to specialists you never met | Diagnosis and delivery sit in different companies | You, by asking who those specialists are before signing |

Flapen figures as of September 2026.

Hold us to the same column. If the audit we send back describes fixes that fit inside your own week, run them yourself and keep the fee. A firm that cannot say that out loud is selling the document and hoping you never read the last column.

## Related answers

- [Amazon agency](/blog/amazon-agency)
- [Amazon agency UK](/blog/amazon-agency-uk)
- [Alternative to hiring a full-service Amazon agency](/blog/alternative-to-hiring-a-full-service-amazon-agency)
- [Amazon SEO experts for Brand Registry brands](/blog/amazon-seo-experts-for-brand-registry-brands)
- [Hiring an Amazon agency: the complete guide](/blog/hiring-an-agency)

One free thing to do this week, for the seller running one to three products between $5,000 and $30,000 a month.
